‘Unlistening’ is one of the standout tracks from Bingo Fury’s exceptionally forward-thinking new album. This particular track is a mesmeric investigation of sound and silence, with tender lyricism placed above an accompaniment that blurs the line between emotive balladry, Reichian minimalism, and distant, confused jazz. Elsewhere on the album, we find a variety of contrasting highlights, ranging from the cacophonous noise of ‘Power Drill’, to the self-conducted experimentalism of the cinematic ‘I’ll Be Mountains’.
